This report compares the health of women across the different rban, regional, rural, and remote areas of Australia. It analyses findings from 'Women's Health Australia - the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women's Health' (ALSWH), which has collected data since 1996 from three cohorts of women then aged 18-23, 45-50 and 70-75. The report presents information on differences in health status by geographic location, mortality and risk factors, access to and use of health services, medical costs, birth interventions, climate events and drought and women's health, and social cohesion.
