This paper, archived from the website of the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection, has been prepared to assist local government in preparing and implementing a coastal hazard adaptation strategy for urban areas at risk from sea erosion and storm tide inundation. The guideline provides a consistent and structured approach to coastal hazard adaptation planning in urban localities and takes into account the impacts of climate change including sea level rise.
