  • In a recent Church conference, Brigham Young has expressed his reasons for distrusting the free-school system and has discussed his lack of faith in the U.S. government. At the same conference, George Q. Cannon explained his belief that the Mormons will eventually be a great national and international power. Cannon warned against accepting Gentile traditions. John Taylor preached about Joseph Smith, comparing him to the prophet Enoch. A description of the mechanics of the government in Utah.
