http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/225339868 - this pic of Sydney barrister George Flannery, K.C. appeared in the Sun pictorial on 23rd December, 1930...it was evidently taken in Sydney earlier that day...the location is King St near the then Supreme Court building (looking kind of East, with the Philip St intersection in the background)...

At the time, Flannery was one of a team of constitutional lawyers who were appearing for NSW MLCs Arthur Trethowan and Thomas Playfair who had brought an injunction before the Supreme Court of NSW to try to stop the abolition of the NSW Legislative Council...
