Summary
This book provides an overview of the evolution of distortions to agricultural incentives caused by price, trade and exchange rate policies in a large sample of African countries. It includes commissioned country studies of 16 individual African economies plus one covering the cotton-exporting countries of West and Central Africa. Each study is illustrated by detailed quantitative estimates of the extent of distortions to farmer incentives.
