This inquiry was set up to investigate the involuntary or coerced sterilisation of people with disabilities in Australia. It examined: sexual and reproductive health for people with disabilities, legal frameworks relevant to the sterilisation of people with disabilities, whether sterilisation of people with disability should be banned, court and tribunal procedures, uniformity of offences, and the prevalence of involuntary or coerced sterilisation. This report presents the findings and recommendations of the inquiry. Additional terms of reference regarding intersex people will be published in a second report.
