"The focus of the workers compensation system in NSW is returning workers to health and work following injury. There is strong evidence that work promotes recovery and reduces the risk of long-term disability and work loss1. Section 53 of the Workplace Injury Management And Workers Compensation Act 1988 (WMIC Act) allows WorkCover NSW to institute, administer and coordinate re-education and rehabilitation schemes for workers. A work trial is a WorkCover NSW initiative that provides increased work-based opportunities for an injured worker to upgrade their physical and psychological capacity for work and/or develop marketable skills."--Introduction.
