Summary
  • This report argues that a family-centred primary health care approach can make a significant contribution to the prevention of adult chronic disease among Indigenous people in Australians. It reviews the lifestyle and social determinants of health and presents recommendations for improving primary health care services - particularly through a life-course approach - that is, starting from pregnancy and integrating services inclusive of health, family, parenting support and early childhood education and care.
