Summary
  • During this speech titled, Introducing the Australian amendment to the 5 power resolution, Menzies speaks of Australia's proposed amendment to the resolution which called for an urgent meeting between the President of the United States and the chairman of the council of the ministry of the USSR. Australia's amendment requests that instead of these two super powers meeting there should be a reconvening of a proposed conference between the US, USSR, President of French Republic and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Speech transcript is accompanied by a text of the draft resolution submitted by Ghana, India, Indonesia, united Arab Republic and Yugoslavia with the Australian proposed amendment.
