Summary
  • This report explores contact between children in kinship care and their biological families. It is the fourth report from the research project, 'Family Links: Kinship Care and Family Contact', which aims to investigate the effectiveness of current family contact policies in Victoria and how services can respond better to families' needs. Based on interviews with kinship carers and support staff, it looks at the characteristics of kinship care arrangements, attitudes to contact, contact arrangements, contact with parents, forced contact, contact with siblings and extended family members, Indigenous families, impact on children and carers, and support needs.
