Summary
  • The Indigenous Healthy Lifestyle Program (IHLP) in Western Australia aims to assist communities to build capacity within the local context to undertake a range of strategies to improve healthy lifestyles and reduce risk factors for chronic disease. Five projects were funded, based in urban, rural, and remote communities: Kwinana, Peel, Norseman, Halls Creek and the Western Desert communities of Jigalong and Punmu. The report presents the findings and recommendations of the evaluation of the program. Program effectiveness was measured in regards to governance, service coordination, workforce sustainability, community capacity and participation, health promotion and prevention, service quality, and service access.
