It has dark grey and white plastic keys, including an ON/​OFF switch to the right of the main keyboard. To the left of the keyboard is a round light silver metal knob with marking in black: 'L UK US G...'. The the right of the keyboard a round metal and plastic knob with numbers marked around the edge and coloured squares with the numbers 3 to 9 marked in black and white. Metal ruler along front in various scales. Brown plastic round knobs at either side to turn paper roller. Top of typewriter swings up to create a paper stand, and to reveal black rubber rollers and ribbon mechanism with plastic spools and black ribbon in place. On top and under paper stand small metal plates with 'IBM'. Taped to right side is a blue printed piece of cardboard with instructions on how to change the ribbon. Coming from the back is a grey plastic covered power cord with grey plastic plug. On the bottom there are four black rubber feet. Black painted metal makers plate: 'IBM/​Trade Mark/​IBM 72 COMPOSER/​VOLTS 220 AC/​PHASE 1/​IBM NEDERLAND N.V./​AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS/​MODEL 615/​HZ 50 80 WATTS MAX.'. Cover: Grey soft plastic machine sewn typewriter cover with 'IBM' printed on front in black. Typewriter ribbons: An unopened package of typewriter ribbons. A folded and glued cardboard box printed in blue, black and white. On the lid: 'IBM' repeated and '6 Composer Ribbons'. On front of box: Instructions on how to replace ribbon. On one end: 'Photo/​Direct-to-Plate/​Colour: Black/​Reorder No. 1136242'. On the other end: 'Use prior to: 1-26-81/​Photo/​...'. 'International Business Machines Corporation/​Made &​ printed in U.S.A.'. On back: 'Especially formulated Reprographic ribbon.'. Two small cabinets containing spare 'golfball' typing heads. Each set has a square shaped dark grey plastic casing with two clear greenish plastic drawers that slide out from front. Each drawer has nine moulded plastic cylinders that the typing heads sit on. A white paper ruled grid is glued to the front of each drawer to record the typing heads inside. Impressed on the moulded handle of each drawer: 'IBM'. In one cabinet the top drawer contains four typing heads while the bottom drawer contains seven. In the other cabinet the top drawer contains four typing heads and the bottom contains three. This second cabinet has a sheet of white paper with examples of typeface printed in black taped to the top. Marks: 'ZERINZA 33/​34/​35 Christmas 1985 Registered by Australia Post - publication no. NBH 2694'. The other five examples are five pages from calanders annotated with 'DR WHO DATES', for March, July, October, and November 1983, and June 1984'. On the reverse of November 1983 there is a black and white photograph of Doctor Who (John Pertwee) and Sarah Jane Smith (Elizabeth Sladen) from an episode of Doctor Who. Six examples of type of paper used for typesetting on this typewriter: three are sheets of semi glossy paper, one side is white and the other is cream. Three folded sheets of semi gloss cream paper.
Notes
  • The typewriter was made in The Netherlands while much of the instructional material was made in the USA. The examples of work produced on the typewriter were made in Sydney.
