Summary
On 27 August 1997 the human remains of two children were discovered inside a suitcase by firefighters while they were backburning in Watagan State Forest. Police were called to the scene. As a police photographer was documenting evidence he discovered a second case containing the remains of a further victim. After much investigation the remains were identified as belonging to 31 year old Qian Gin [Sarah] Park, and her two children 3 year old Andrew Eun Park and 18 month old Amy Sarah Park, who had been reported missing from Eastwood ten months earlier. Police investigating in the initial missing persons report firstly needed to eliminate the possibility of Korean gang (gambling and extortion) involvement before focusing their attentions on Sarah Park's husband Sung Hun [Nick] Park and his new girlfriend Demi. Using information car rental documentation and from palm prints the victims bank account slips they were able to establish Nick Park's involvement - Demi supplied the final information that ensured his conviction.
