Notes
  • As vicinity to the major trading partner Germany at present carries no substantial advantage the main Austrian regions are all affected to a similar extent by the recession. The Salzburg province and the Tyrol draw some benefit from a broader export base, while in Carinthia cyclical fluctuations are less pronounced, altogether. Relatively robust activity in the Burgenland is remarkable given the severe output losses in the apparel industry.
