I have four parties rabbiting, and one party alone has 54 dogs. Altogether there are about 100 dogs used on my homestead lease. During the month of August I was giving 1d. each, but this month have reduced the price to ¾d. I am now starting two phosphorising machines at work, as what few rabbits are left stick so close to the burrows that it is very difficult to got at them holders of land to fence with rabbit-proof fencing, as I believe it to be the only means of getting rid of them. ' I intend to keep on destroying the rabbits while 1 can find one alive. My fencing cost at tho rate of £80 a mile, but wire netting is much cheaper now then when 1 purchased mine. Of course I put up a much more substantial fence than is required by Government. The nature of mine is posts to every l0ft. apart, with four wires of No. 8 gauge, and wire netting,42in. wide, 1½ inch mesh, sunk in the ground 6in., and securely lashed to the wire fence with nine ties to every panel." I hope you will try and make this as public as possible, as it may be the means of making my neighbours do likewise I feel confident I can keep the pest down.
