This photo shows Lorraine Crapp (Australia) just after she won Heat 1 of the Women's 100 metres freestyle on 29 November in an Olympic record time of 1min 03.4sec. The record would last only until Heat 5 which teammate Dawn Fraser won in 1min 02.4sec.
