In this region, 'perch' = Macquarie perch (Macquaria australasica) now almost entirely displaced from mountain streams by introduced trout species. 'Cod' = trout cod or 'blue-nose cod' (Maccullochella macquariensis), a more mountainous species of Murray cod (Maccullochella peelii), again wholly displaced from mountain streams by introduced trout, or possibly a mix of trout cod and some Murray cod.
