The copy of the photo of the London Hotel (kept by Mr William Crisp) was donated by me to the State Library of Qld. Ditto the copy of a letter written by my great grandfather Patrick O'Sullivan in 1925 to his son,Arthur, in WA. This describes his visit to the farm of his son-in-law, Samuel Charles Crisp & his daughter, Ellie Meredith Crisp. Unfortunately, the letter is missing the last page. SC Crisp was a nephew of William Crisp.

Obituary - Iain Murray Rose. Born 6 January 1939 in Scotland; died 15 April 2012 in Sydney, aged 73. Melbourne in 1956, much like another Australian city 44 years later, was not all convinced it could pull it off. The world was coming and for the first time, so was television. The Olympics were not the swollen, commercial extravaganza they have since become but they were still a big deal. Australian team chiefs and event organisers shared the same gnawing an... |

After hearing lengthy evidence, Mr. Gale found that the accident had been caused by unaccountable skidding of the back wheels of the car and that the driver was in no wise responsible. Robert Baines who had been held in custody on a charge in connection with the accident was accordingly discharged at a sitting of the police court held immediately afterwards. (Article), The Canberra Times (ACT : 1926 - 1995), Thursday 2 December 1926 page Article |
My name is Viv. and know of Vivian Rouse .. I have corrected 2 of the articles but it doesn`t seem to have "saved" although I did ""save" .. I also wonder how, in those older days they didn`t seem to realise that any person who may have consumed alcohol can still seem sober but as we now know -driving alertness and reaction-time are in fact very impaired even by minor consumption...Many people back in the day thought nothing of having-a-swig and then driving--quite commonplace...I am still left won...
