Johns & Waygood was established as a public company in 1892. It fabricated many Australian landmarks including Sydney's Centrepoint Tower and helped pioneer the lift industry. In 1966 the company became Johns Perry Ltd, which was taken over by Boral Limited in 1986. After further takeovers the company became known as Advanced Building Technologies Group Pty Ltd and was still operating under that name in 2006.
