Joseph Ayrton Bradbury was a teacher and principal in the Technical Branch of the Victorian Education Department from 1922-57, being Principal of the West Melbourne Technical School (later Essendon Technical School) from 1939.
Born Parkside, South Australia, 29 May 1892. Died 14 March 1973. Educated Bendigo School of Mines and Industries (diploma in metallurgy 1910). Assayer, speculative mining companies, New South Wales, assayer, Mt Lyell Mining and Railway Company 1912, later Chief Research Chemist, part-time teacher in chemistry, Queenstown School of Mines, teacher of chemistry and physics, Bendigo Technical School 1922-36, Principal, Wangaratta Technical School 1936-39, Principal, West Melbourne Technical School (later Essendon Technical School) 1939-57.
