Traugott Bernhard (Bernard) Zwar was honorary surgeon to in-patients at Melbourne Hospital from 1919, honorary consulting surgeon from 1935 and president of the committee of management 1937-45. He was a leading force behind the move of the hospital to its site in Parkville. He also lectured in surgery at the University of Melbourne from 1924-35.
