    A wide area of devastation surrounds the wrecked mixing hut which was the scene of the fatal explosion at the works of the Australian Explosives Co. Ltd., Deer Park, on Tuesday. The site of the hut was like a shell-hole in a battle-field, with masses of torn iron, mud, and splintered wood fringing crater-like hol[?]s, at the bottom of which was green slimy water. A general view of the wreckage caused by the explosion is given on the left. The ridge on the left is the remains of the protecting earth wall which surrounded the hut. In the background is the next hut, which was severely damaged. Although 500lb. of gelignite was in this second hut it did not explode.
