LARKOINITEs v, POLICE. LONDON, FRIDAY. nheroe was a serious disturbancein Dublin to-day, the police and the unemployed coming into conflict. Captain J. R. White, D.S.O,, son of the late Fieid-Marhal Shir George White, led a procession of supporters of Larkin to see the Lord Mayor of Dubolin to-d ay, that they might demand work for the unemployed. Captain White was armed with a blackthorn, and his followers had staves. The processionists encountered a body of police whom Captain White ordered to clear the road. A serious conflict ensued, and eventually the police dispersed the crowd by vigorously using their batons. Several of the rioters were so severely injured that they had to be taken to a hospital. Captain White, who was injured in the face, Swas arrested. tIn Novembebr last Captain White began to drill the strikers in Dublin with the idea of forming a force to Soppose the Ulster army.]
