RED CROSS WORKERS AT COLOMBO The following is an extract from a letter written to the secretary of the Red Cross fromn a New Zealand nursing sister who recently passed through Colombo. Dear Sir,-On behalf of Sister Cartwright and myself, who are travelling as patients on a hospital ship, and in the course of our journey spent a day at Colombo, I wish to let you know what a grand piece of work your representative, Mr. Wilkinson, is doing, with the aid of the many ladies of Colombo, entertaining the troops passing to and fro. As soon as cur ship was berthed Mr. Wilkinson came aboard, and had arranged everything within the matter of one and a half hours. On landing at the wharf the canteen was working at full speed, hot and cold drinks, cakes, and biscuits. Then the ladies with their own cars took parties of '"oys" away for drives and to their own homes for lunch, etc. Sister Cartwright and I were treated right royally, and we shall both look back on the day we spent there, with nothing but pleasant memories.-Yours truly, N. M. SCOTT.
