Maritime Mishap.

BAMBRA SINKS A LUGGER.

ALL HANDS LOST.

Perth, August 18.

Yesterday morning -while steaming between dossack and Onslow

the Bambra struck with foree a vessel of some description in Mary Ann Passage. It is believecf the collision was with a lugger, which was apparently riding at anchor without any lights showing. It is surmised that if any persons were aboard they were asleep below. Neither wreckage nor bodies were found.

fn response to a request for information in connection with the sinking of a lugger by the Bamhra, the pearling inspector at Broome has advised the Colonial Secretary that the lugger Moana No. B 133, licensed at Broome1 owner Patrick James Smith, of' Broome; was reported to have been cut down at 4 a.m., and all hands are missing. The boat'sl company consisted of Michae Smith (brother of the owner), six Japanese, and a Malay. The boat was identified by tbe wreckage. Boats are still searching,, in the neighborhood,.of the mishap.
