At the Claremont (W.A.) police court, Chas. D. Johnson was sent to gaol for three inontha for cohabitation with a female aboriginal. Johnson is a colored man. Mr. C. F. Gale, Chief Inspector of Westralian Fisheries, has been selected to fill the position of Chief Protector of Aborigines, in ' place of Mr. Prinsep, who is now in England on retiring leave. A constable and black tracker found the body after a clay's search. A telephone line man named Edward Lewis met his death in a sensational manner on Wednesday morning. A sizzling sound was heard, and tho unfortunate man was sc-on hanging to tho wires. A man named Edwards, who was present, rushed away to the telephone to nave tho power out off. lie had e-ono only a few yards when the lifeless body of Lewis dropped to the ground.
