MR. C. GOODE REVISITS

Represented Stanley District

Mr, Clarence Goode, who a quarter of a century ago represented Stanley District in State Parliament, is visiting Pirie after a long absence. He ar-rived on Tuesday night and is spend-ing a fortnight with his brother, Mr. A. P. Goode. Pirie representative of Bunge (Aus.) Pty., Ltd.

Mr. Goode was in Parliament before Pirie was formed into a two-member district. He did not nominate for the following election. Originally he was a farmer at Laura, and in the House was a colleague for Stanley of {Messrs. Harry Jackson and W. J. C. Cole. He was Minister of Agriculture in the Vaugban Labor Government.

Leaving these parts, Mr. Goode nominated for Victoria District, in the South-East. and was elected with the !.1 a 11' Mr. Peter Reidy'in 14M 5. He rep

resented that district for three years, and ill en went, to Queensland, where lie spent 10 years. 'He- has been resid

ing at Henley Beach for the past two

years'.

In Queensland Mr. Goode tried cot- ton growing, but the climate in his

district proved that it was an unpro- fitable undertaking-, and he dropped

it. -
