MRS. RACHAEL BROWN

' A. Tweed pioneer of. 65 years' standing, Mrs1. Rachael Brown, relict' of. the late Mr. Joseph Brown, of Tyalgum, died in a Murwillumbah private hospital yesterday morning, The, late Mrs. Brown was a member of one of the Tweed's foremost

pioneering families, the Kellys, of Eungella, who settled in the district 65 years ago. Mrs. Brown was 74 years of age. She was born at Dungog and married in Lismore.

The surviving family of three sons and two daughters are Messrs. Albert Jc>eph Brown, Victor Jaaics Brown and Frederick Charles Brown, of Tyalguiu (sons), and Mrs. E. C. J. Marks, wife of Cr. Marks, of Bungabra, and Miss Alberta Brown, Sydney (daughters). Mrs. James McKenzie (Murwillumbah^ and Mrs. George King (3:zel!e, Syd .lev) are sisters, and Messrs. James K«lly (Eungella) and Andrew Kelly (Brisbane; ure brothers
