OBITUARY. MRS. BRIDGET CLANCY. The death of Mrs Bridget Clancy, relict of the late John Clancy, took place at her residence, Port Fairy, on Friday evening. The deceased lady was an invalid for a number of years, being a sufferer from rheu matics, but throughout her long and trying illness, she was a most patient and cheerful sufferer, and was loved and revered by all who came in con tact with her. The late Mrs Clancy was a native of Clomniel, Co. Water foid, Ireland, and was born in 1823, her age being 95 years. Accompanied by her husband, she arrived in Mel bourne from America in 1855, and very soon after, they took up their residence at Aringa, afterwards mov ing to Yambuk, where the couple carried on farming pursuits, and made a very large circle of friends. Her husband predecased her 23 years ago. After his death, she continued to re side in Yambuk for a time, after wards coming to Port Fairy about 7 Syears ago, where she has since resi ded with her daughter, Miss Lizzie Clancy. Some months ago, deceased had a very severe seizure, and it was thought at the time that the end was not far off, but she rallied, and was able to sit up again. On Monday afternoon, however, she took a bad turn, and passed peacefully away, as Sbefore stated, on Friday evening. rSpiritual consolation was administered constantly by Rev Father Goidanich and the Sisters of the Good Samari tan Convent, who visited her fre Squently. The late Mrs Clancy leaves Sa family of one son and three daugh ters to mourn the loss of a devoted and affectionate mother. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon, Rev SFather Goidanich performing the i sacred rites at the grave and Messrs Sharkey and Brennan having charge Sof the funeral arrangements. As a mark of respect for the deceased lady, the Dead March in Saul was played by Sthe organist at the Ii o'clock Mass at Sthe R.C. Church, on Sunday.
