Obituary. Mr Charles Moore, the well known senior partner in the firm of Charles M. Read and Co, general drapers, of Chapel street, Prahran, who resided at " Woorigoleen," Clendon road, Toorak, died on Saturday. He was 58 years of age, and his demise has caused very great regret amongst a large circle of friends. He leaves a widow, four sons, and three daughters. The eldest son is Gunner C. C. Moore, who is training for active service in the Field Artillery Camp at Maribyrnong. The late Mr Moore arrived in Adelaide from Londoi. derry, Ireland, 35 years ago, and in that city he established the business of Chas Moore and Co. In 1906 a branch establishment was opened in Perth, and not very lonig ago the firm built large premises in Adelaide. In addition to being the senior partner in the Charles M. Read Stores, Chapel street, Prahran, Mr Moore owned the buildings The burial took place at the Brighton cemetery on Sunda3y. The many friends of ex-Cr Agustut Medley Williams will regret to hear of his death, which took place at his residence, "Fairfield," Punt Hill, South Yarrn, on WXdnesday, after a severe illness extending over six months. The deceased gentleman was unassuming and courteous at atll-times. He took a keen interest in public mattters, and was a member of the Prahran City Council for overnine years. In his business as an estate agent Mr Williaihs was highly respected, and he was one of the assessors under the State Landr Tax He took much interest in out doorpasimes, and for some years was one of the foremost cricket an d football players. He used to be a member of the old South Yarra and Southern Football Club and Alberti Cricket Club teams, which in their day were the premier clubs. Mr Williams was a native of South Yarra. He married a daughter of the late Mr Robt. McKechney. His wife survives him. There is no family. Mr Frank -WV. Wjilliams, valuer to the city of Prahran, and Mr Robt, Williams are brothers ot deceased. The funeral, which was of a? private character, took place on Thursday, Brighton cemetery bein_ the place of interment. iMr: B Matthews-had charge of the mortuary arrangements. As a'mark of respect to the memory of the-late Mr Williams the flag at the Prahran Town Hall ivas flown at half mast.
