CLARENCE MUNICIPALITY.

The councillors of the Clarence Municipality met on Saturday last at the Police Office, Kangaroo Point, the main business for consideration being the appointment of a Council Clerk, and also of a Superintendent of Police

For the former office, there were seventeen applications, and for the other seven. After opening all the applications Mr. Thomas was unanimously elected Council Clerk, and Mr. Walter Bellette Superintendent of Police, and each was inskuoted"to enter upon his duties

forthwith. " ' The

Warden intimated to the Council that the Government had placed £50 to their credit in the Bank on account of the grant in aid to which in common with all other Municipalities they were entitled.

After some CIÍBOUBSÍOIV as to whether Kan Earoo Point or Rokeby should be the Council's

head quarters nothing was determined upon and the meeting was adjourned.
