Kelly, the young ruffian who is supposed to be Power's mate, was brought up at the Local Police Court on remand from the previous week. Super-intendent Nicolson appeared on behalf of the Crown. The firit charge was that of robbing Mr M'Bean in company. Mr M'Bean could not identify the prisoner as one of the men who stuck him up, and he was consequently discharged. The second charge was of robbery under arms near Seymour ; but in this case the witnesses could not be found, and the prisoner was again dis-charged. A third charge was then brought against him of robbing a man named Murray under arms, near Lauriston. In this case Superintendent Nicolson applied for a remand on a warrant from Kyneton. He stated to the bench that the description in the warrant corresponded exactly with the prisoner, and a remand to Kyneton was granted.
