BRUNETTE DOWNS.

The Brunette Downs, Walhallow Downs, and Eva Downs cattle stations, situated in the Northern Territory, came under the hammer at the Royal Exchange, Sydney. There was a good attendance. Messrs. Pitt, Son. & Badgery, in conjunction with Trebeck & Co., and John Bridge & Co., were the auctioneers. The sale took place

at the instance of the Gulf Cattle Com-pany. The Brunette Downs station, com prising 5,471 square miles of territory, held under pastoral leases from the Crown, together with about 40,000 head of cattle, was first submitted. This station is about 200 miles from Camooweal and about 420 miles from Cloncurry. For this property there was no offer. The Walhallow Downs and Eva Downs stations were next sub- mitted in one line. These properties have a total area of over 5,000 square miles, held under pastoral leases. The land adjoins the Brunette Downs station. The stock comprises about 600 head of cattle and about 300 head of horses. After fair com-petition these properties were sold to Mr. A. . J. Cotton, of Queensland, for £15,000.
