Childbirth

SYDNEY, Mondav.

Mrs. James Bancks died yesterday in a private hospital at Darling Point. She was the wife of the famous artist who created Ginger

Meggs, and was the elder daughter of Mr. E. J. Tait, managing director of J. C. Williamson Ltd. The circumstances of her death were tragic. Her husband Jias brought joy to the lives of countless children, and his wife, also a great lover of children, for years had devoted herself to working for the welfare of kindergartens. She was a member of the Council of the Kindergarten Union of New South Wales. Mr. and Mrs. Bancks were looking forward to the birth of their own first child, and Mrs. Bancks had entered the hospital. Complications, however, ended in the loss of both mother and babif. Mrs. Bancks was a notable fashion designer and writer of fashion articles. For several years she had been fashion adviser to J# C. Williamson productions.
