Vie. Team Leaves Tomorrow

MELBOURNE. Saturdav.

One of the strongest teams ever sent from Victoria will compete in the national baseball carnival in Perth. Players will leave Melbourne by train tomorrow.

New South Wales players, who will defend the Claxton Shield, will arrive izi Melbourne tomorrow and leave with the Victorians and when the South Australians join the train in Adelaide there will be more than 75 baseballers on board. Victorian team is: Pitchers: Recce (Essendon), L. Cheong (Melbourne), Higffins (Collingwood); ^catchers: Quinn (Melbourne), Ferguson (Prahran); first base: Plant (Fitzroy): second: Locklier (Richmond); third: Martin (H.S.6.B.); short stop: McCarthy (Fitzroy); . left field: Denison (Carlton); centre: Col. Miller, (Melbourne); right: C. Kerville (Essendon). E? Greenwood (secretary of the metropolitan division) will be manager and the president of Association (Mr. R. Hindson) and vice-presidents (Messrs. E. E. King and A. V. Cottee) and a member of the council (Mr. J. Ellis) will also make the trip.
