'Sunshine Susie,' the record-breaking Gainsborough comedy, easily topped the annual poll conducted in England, as the best British film of 1932. 'Service for Ladies' (ParamountBritish) was placed second on the list, with 'Michael and .Mary' next, and 'Jack's the Bov' a close fourth. -

In previous years best British films were as follow: — 'The Constant . Nymph' (1928), 'Blackmail' (1929), 'Rookery Nook' (1930), and 'Middle Watch' (1931). The vote for acting honors in thu 1932 screen production went to Emlyn Williams for his study of the mad Lord Labonon in 'The Frightened Lady.' The actor made his screen debut in this role, which he had previously created on the London stage. 'Sunshine Susie,' by the way, was recently re-issued in England by the Gainsborough Company, and is still a big box-office draw
