ANOTHER FLOOD.

THREATENING MOORA HEAVY RAINFALLS IN DISTRICT WATERCOURSES ALREADY OVERFLOWING. , MOORA, Monday.

The phenomenal rains o!f the last two days make it Jtjrpear Inevitable that Moora will again be subject to flood conditions. Two hundred and

fifty-three f,points fell between late on ?Saturday and early to-fiay, 83 points falling yesterday in one. shower of 20 minutes' duration.. Creeks and rivers are running bankers, and the lowerlying places of the town are inundated. Gardiner-street has the overflow of the creeks to the back doors^of the business premises, ' and Clinch-street, from Padbury to Pvoberts streets, is one lake of water, threatening to 'run through the houses of the people near at hand. ' Showers . have fallen throughout the morning, with no sign of abatement and residents are alarmed at the iprospect of floods. Considerable indignation is expressed in many quarters that the Government has' not attempted to prevent a recurrence of floods, as promised. Several wasnaways are reported from north and south of Moora, but the Midland Company think these can be repaired to allow trains to run near schedule time. , Heavy rains are reported to have fallen at surrounding centres for two days. Warwick Park 218, Barberton 216, Coomberdale 2.31, Walebing 329, Coorow 253, are some oif the registrations. - These falls have important bearing on the possibility ol the flooding of Moora, If local waters do not clear before northern waters reach the Moore River, Moora is inevitably doomed to another flood.
