MELBOURNE, Tues — Central Flying School— the R.A.A.F.'s university of the air — has moved from Point Cook to East Sale, according to an announce

ment made at R.A.A.F.

headquarters. Central Flying School is responsible for the creation and maintenance of the standards of Hying and Hying training throughout the service. In addition to conducting its own courses, C.F.S. disseminates the flying training information and flying techniques to all flying units in the service. Its duties include the training of all flying instructors, the periodical testing and rating of all pilots and the collation of topical flying training information and flying techniques.New New Scheme The school is at present conducting the first 'all-through' flying instructors' course, a new postwar training scheme under which the whole of the flying training policy of the R.A.A.F. has been completely revolutionised. Under this new system an aircrew trainee, training to be a pilot, will receive his initial training, elementary training and service training all at one station. While at Point Coo.k, Central Flying School cooperated with the Aircraft Research and Development Unit in providing aircraft for offensive air support displays, bushfire - spotting, flre-fighting tests and longdistance test flights. Wing Commander I. F. Rose, A.F.C., who is at present temporary commanding officer of R.A.A.F. Station, East Sale, is commanding officer of C.F.S.
