m RITISH producer Sir Alexander Korda has just comU pie ted a distribution deal which will cover Australia, W i^e w'T Zealand and South Africa. He has a large number of stories on hand, and will use botis British and foreign players. First of the Korda films under the new agreement will be An Ideal Husband, based on the play by Oscar Wilde. which includes Michael Wilding, Diana Wynyard, Sir C. Aubrey Smith, Hugh Williams and Constance Collier.Tolstoy's Tolstoy's Anna Karenina is the second picture scheduled. It will star Vivien Leigh, Ralph Richardson and Keiron Moore. ?Other films lined up include The Basement Room, Bonnie Prince Charlie (with David Niven) and The Elusive Pimpernel. The 'Pimpernel' picture may be renamed, but it has been decided that Rex Harrison is to - take the part filled in the past by the late Leslie Howard. Korda recently purchased the film right to Daphne Du Maurier's novel The King's General at a reported price of about £A81,000— one of the highest prices ever paid in the British film history. No decision has been made yet about the cast, but topflight English dramatic actor James Mason is interested in the script and seems a likely choice.
