GREAT PROMISE IN BAUXITE DEPOSITS

BRISBANE, August 21.--Cape York Pen* insula bauxite deposits, if proved, could easily supply Australia's aluminium plant requirements, a leading British inustrialist said today.

The Industrialist, Mr L. Robinson, joint managing-director of the £60,000,000 mining company, Consolidated Zinc Corporation Ltd, announced the discovery of the deposits in Oalrns last night after "a visit to the prospecting area base at Weipa River Mission.

He said In Brisbane tonight that no announcement would be made on the development of the deposits - believed to total hundreds of millions of

tons - until mining experts had completed ore quality

tests.
