Fire At Fremantle

Damage estimated at several hundred pounds was caused by a fire which broke out in the Adelaide Steamship Company's Fremantle premises early this morning. - When Fremantle fire brigade arrived flames were leaping high from a storeroom at the rear of the company's premises and the adjoining buildings were in danger of catching fire. Two engines got the fire under control in less than half an . hour. It took an hour to extinguish it- com-, pletely. Alarm was given at 4.30 a.m. The storeroom contained salvage gear and tools. Contents were almost a total loss. but the building was not seriously damaged. Cause of the fire is not known.
