MESSENGER'S PATCH.

Mining generally throughout .the Talg-oq goIdfieM is still very quiet At Messenger's Patch the State battery treated 166.25 tons of ore for a return .or 67.06 tine ounces. Of this the Crescent 'produced 140% tons for 22.95 fine ouaces; the M-urloo, 9.75 tons for C.'93 'fine ounces;- and the Mugs Blow, 16' tons' for 37.18 fine ounces. It is rtgretted that the Messenger's Patch distficty notwithstanding the optimis.tic ( opinions entertained by some concerning it, has failed to realise its early promise, although assisted- by the erec ?tion of a State battery there. This mill is now' to be removed to Quiring, 'in the Nannine district, w'here there are' several propositions working; which badly need the assistance of crushing facilities. ' At Field's Find, the Reward Gold Mines, Ltd., treated 100 tons of. ore for a return of 109.19 fine ounce?.
