PAT BANNA TALKIE Booked for Hoyts

Over a glass of something that might have been ginger ale, Hoyts resident manager, Mr. 6. W. Perry, last night advised pressmen at the Capitol that he had received word from Mr. C. E. Munro that the all-Australian Efftee Productions had been booked for Hoyts circuit.

The first all-Australian programme will consist of 'The Diggers,' which was written by Pat Hanna and Eric Donaldson, and Is based on the exploits during the war of two Australian soldiers (portrayed by Pat Hanna and George Moon). Both these actors are widely known to Australian audiences and both have appeared in Perth. The balance of the cast includes Miss Mabel Gibson, the musical comedy player, Miss Patricia Minchin, Ed. Warrington, John Henry, Guy Hastings and Miss Nell Fleming, who is also well known in Perth. Mr. F. W. Thring personally directed this film. The Co-Respondent's Course' will be tbe second feature. It is A SOCIETY COMEDY-DRAMA written by Montagus Grover, Australian newspaper man, and tbe leading roles are taken by Miss Donalda Warne and John D'Arcy. Among the short subjects will probably be one of the 'Cities of the Empire' series, dealing with Melbourne, and a musical featurette by Will Cade and the Melbourne Regent Theatre orchestra. The next programme from this organisation, said Mr. Perry, would be beaded by the talkie version of 'The Sentimental Bloke.' ?
