Austin Downs.

At Austin Downs station, 2½ inches of rain fell on Saturday (Feb 7) in about 20 minutes (says the "Murchison Times"). The lightning, thunder, and wind were severe and several

trees were struck by lightning. Mr. J. P. Meehan's losses were, however, slight, only a few out-buildings being blown over. The rain will do a lot of good on Austin Downs. All the pools around Cuddingwarra were filled, and at the latter place the, storm appears to have been strongest, and considerable damage was done to property there. The storm struck the Victory Victory United Hotel with all the force of a hurricane, and in a few minutes the place was a wreck. The "blow" . lasted about ten minutes.
