Derby News.

Derby, August 23 Shipping.

The Kangaroo arrived on August 16 and after discharging cargo. loaded 762 cattle from Fossil and Leopold Stations, and 10½ tons of sandalwood, and sailed for Frernantle on the 17th. The cattle were loaded in 3 hours 20 min uates, which was an excellent performance, if not a record for this port.

Immediately the berth was clear Minderoo from Singapore berthed. and commenced discharging cargo. mostly boring material, and in the evening loaded 394 cattle from Gogo Station and 39 bales of wool.

Mr. D. Macdonald. of Fossil Downs. Station, left by the Kangaroo, en route for his home in Goulburn. N.S.W.

Mrs. H. W. B. Talbot was a passenger to Frernantle by the Minderoo.

Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Smith of Hall's Creek arrived in Derby on the 21st. and will leave for Frernantle by the Eoolinda.

Visitors in town during the week included Messrs. G. Whale, J Wood-lands. W. Edwards. Keynish. H. W. B. Talbot. O. Stanchill. C. Hansen, and Inspector and Mrs. Mitchell.
