AT HOMIE FOR CHRISTMASn Christmas with their own families was enjoyed by a number ofL long term- patients from Heidelberg Repat=1 riation Hospital, .because' Red' Cross was 'able to provide .transport for them:i All are incapacitated' stretcher cases, wheelchairs" and`i' iwalkers, not -well enough to travel by train The Red Cross fleet of trucks, carsmhd an ambulance worked to-capacity for a week preceding Christmas =on jobs to places as far' removed as Beechworth, Dunkeld, Sunbury, Port Fairy, Colac, Terang, Geelong, Ardmona, Glengarry, Yarragon. The men are being called for at the end of their leave. Home leave means a lot' 'at any time to long term .patients, but :Christmufia1 V part ulflylimport at. The men are `most appreclatlye, of being able to get to their own towns. Apart from long distance patients over 100 men and women are being taken to. and -from suburban homes for the holidays.: Red Cross senior representative at -Heidelberg, Mr. J. M. Boardman and his assistaint Mrs. Ian Cliff work in co-operation with Repatriation, the Army and the ;Red Cross transport department on the big job-of "movements."
