OBITUARY. Mr. William Rooking an old and respected employe of the late Mir. Francis Henty, of Merino Downs, died on Friday. He was engaged in 185G6, and had remained on the station everesince that year. Mrs. Watson, wife of Mr W. Watson, of Ararat, 35 years of age, died on Monday from consumption. Two of her children have died of the same complaint. Mr. Samuel Bloy, eldest son of M£r. J. Bloy, of Ararat, died in the Broklen Hil Hos pital on Saturday. Mr. William Goedecke, 67 years of age, brewer, of Penola, who 47 years since went to Mount Gambler from Portland, died, on Satur-day afternoon, after a long and painful illness. Mrs. Neil McInnes who (as already re-ported in the "Times") died at Border Town, on May 31, at the age of 90 years, arrived in South Australia by the ship Switzerland in August, 1855, and settled with her family at Morambro Station, near Narracoorte. She lived in this district for 45 years. She was a native of Portrea, Inverneeshire. and until the last could read her Gaelic Bible without the aid of spectacles. She has left four children, 18 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. The deaths have occurred of Sir Wate Besant, the popular no'elist, and Mr, Robt. Buchanan, the eminent novelist, poet and critic.
