THAT CHRISTMAS FEELING. The Christmas feeling has pervaded Horsham for some days. It is a season of goodwill and incidentally good business. Walt. Mason, the famous American poet, in. his book "Horse Sense" gives a Christmas recipe that is worth passing on. He says, "Make somebody happy to-dayl Each morning that motto repeat, and life, that was gloomy and grey, at once becomes pleasant and sweet." At Chr'stmas time quarrels are forgotten, if not forgiven. The streets of Horsham yesterday were lined with pine boughs which perhaps served a double purpose. Besides their decorative value, they prevented the large crowds which gather taking up the Australian's favorite duty-holding up a verandah post, The shops used all the enticements at their various d'.sposals to induce the purchase of Christmas presents.
