OBITUARY Mrs. McCubbety, wife of Mr. Jae P. McCubbery, of Horsham, died, after a long o illness, from consumption of the throat, on t Monday evening. The deceased hdy, who in the short time she had lived in Horsham had made many friends,was 29 years of age. She leaves, besides her husband, two chil. I dren, the elder 18 months and the younger only a few weeks old. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon, the inter. ment being made in the Horaham cemetery. The cortege was a long one, a large number of the visitors from Minyip, where hire. McCubbery was well known and most highly thought of, walking in procession to the cemetery. The Rev. Father Michael Lynch officiated at the grave, and Mr. Coo Curran and three of Mr. McCubbery's brothers acted as pall bearers. The arrange. ments were carried out by Mr. A. F. Weight. The nine months old son of Mr. J. Jardine, of Horsham, died, on Tuesday, from inflam-mation. The funeral took place on Wednes-day. The mortuary arrangements were carried out by Mr. A. F. Weight, and the funeral service was conducted by the Rev Father Meade. Mr. James Reading, of Wallaloo, a very old district resident, died, on Tuesday,after a short illness. Mr. John Fraser, of Stawell, 80 years of age, died on Tuesday. Miss Mary Agnes Kirkwood, 20 years of age, daughter of the late Mr John Kirk-wood, of Buckley's Swamp, who deceased on the previous Wednesday, died, on Tues-day, from pneumonia, supervening on influ-enza. Mrs. Dorothea Schmidt, 76 years of age, relict of the late Mr. Ernest H. Schmidt, of Mt, Gambier West, died, on Monday, after a long illness. She was a colonist of 47 years standing, and had lived in the South.East for upwards of 40 years. She leaves five children and 47 grandchildren. Mr. George Carr, 82 years of age, died at Stawell on Tuesday.
