POULTRY FOR CHRISTM.S, One of the main items of the housewife's Christmas shopping is her purchase of poultry for the Christmas dinner. Poultry dealers look forward to the Christmas season when they can dispose of their stocks easily at good prices. The Bendigo poultry markets during the last few weeks have been well supplied, as the birds are bought well beforehand, and are well conditioned before killing. At Andrew & Co.'s rooms last Friday the market of poultry constituted a record for the rooms. One buyer alone purchased 1 ton 16 cwt of poultry, and two others each took away 17 cwt.
